G.The CD provides two of the three training requirements needed. #Dd Form 626 Requires Drivers To Provide driver#(2) Function-specific, driver training for each HAZMAT employee operating a motor vehicleį.Commanders may obtain the HAZMAT 'Familiarization & Safety in Transportation', Computer Based Training, AMMO-67-CBT, that is a self-paced CD ROM tutorial, and is available free of charge from the U.S. (10) Route selection (established ammo routes)Į.HAZMAT training is separated into three areas (49 CFR 172.704): (6) Forms and records (includes accident reporting) (5) Operation of emergency equipment to include fire extinguishers (4) Regulations and procedures pertaining to transporting hazardous materials (3) Handling (loading and unloading) hazardous materials 1.Training Requirements for Transporting Ammunition and ExplosivesĪ.Training in transporting hazardous materials will be consistent with title 49 CFR part 171,ī.Uniformed personnel taking part in the transportation of ammunition and explosives must be trained.This includes those who drive and load the truck, pack ammunition in the boxes, or mark and label the ammunition (49 CFR, part 172.702(b)).Ĭ.As a minimum, military vehicle operators must receive familiarization and safety training in the following areas (49 CFR, part 171, and AR 600-55, para 4-9):
